- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪We changed doctors for my mother during the last few months of her life and chose Dr. Smith initially simply because she was not part of the St Luke's system, which we found dehumanising and overly institutional. Dr Smith proved to be an exceptional physician and well versed in my mother's advanced COPD. She was extremely concerned, very attentive, immediately responsive to changes in her health, and during the last few weeks made herself available in a way I havent seen since my childhood. She gave me her cell phone and told me to feel I could call anytime of the day or night.
